Q: What are the things that make you unique as a stylist?
A: I feel like I’m good at making people feel welcome, accepted, and heard as I haven’t always felt that way in my life. I’m open to many different styles and don’t judge people for how they choose to express themselves. I give the floor to clients to express parts of my work they may not be happy with and offer to making any adjustments necessary without fear that I may be “upset” if they speak up
Q: What is like to have you as a stylist?
A: I think I’m a good listener and am honest if I forgot something or didn’t hear something because I have a genuine interest in them. I try my best to remember details about each client and ask for updates on them when I see them again to let them know I care. I like to make sure they’re happy every step of the way (ex: asking if a length is still good when doing a significant change) so they feel comfortable and trust me.
Q: What are some unique things about you?
A: I grew up around many different types of people — queer, neurodivergent, rich, poor, etc.— this made me very open-minded and always charitable in my assumptions of people. I grew up in a smaller city, around those living in poverty, unhoused, undocumented, and have learned humility and gratitude from those experiences. As someone with anxiety, although I am very creative, I love systems because they add some amount of predictability and the ability to duplicate my work. This makes me strive to learn more efficient ways to do cuts/color.
